Top Shelf Ingredients

Mary insists on sourcing every single ingredient to be the absolute best that money can buy.  Yes, money can buy it, but it's not cheap.  For example, did you know that there is actually a "best maraschino cherry in the world"?

Established in 1821, the Luxardo family produces these on their small farm in Italy.  When Luxardo marasca cherries are harvested at the beginning of every summer, they are put in an alcoholic infusion in larch-wood vats together with some leaves and branches of the same trees for up to three years.  The cherries are exported primarily to be used in cocktails at the finest bars in the world.  You can find them on Amazon, and in the gourmet section of some high-end grocery stores. A small jar retails for about $25.

Luxardo cherries are only one example of Mary's quest for sourcing top shelf ingredients.  European style high-fat butter, the best chocolate in the world, premium nuts, organic sprouted oats, pure cane sugar and real vanilla are among the other carefully selected ingredients.
